Breaking Barriers: Celebrating the Graduation of our First Women’s Class in St. Johns County

We are thrilled to announce the graduation of our first class of women from the Ready4Work reentry program at St. Augustine Jail. Over the past several months, we have been delivering reentry services behind the walls of the St. Johns County facility to prepare people for successful transition prior to release. Their journey hasn’t been easy, but the determination and resilience displayed by these women to make the most of their second chances have impressed us.

The Ready4Work program extends far beyond providing reentry support; it serves to change the trajectory of their lives after time behind bars. Our Career, Technical and Life Skills training and individualized release plans prepare clients on how to manage their finances, interview for jobs, develop positive relationships, and build self-sufficiency.

Throughout their time in the program, we have witnessed notable transformations among these women. They have not only developed valuable job skills but have also gained newfound confidence and self-esteem. We have seen them embrace personal growth and overcome the challenges they faced prior to and during their incarceration. As they prepare to leave the jail’s confines, we are filled with hope and anticipation for the bright futures that await each and every one of them.

The Ready4Work program will continue to stand as a beacon of hope and support for those in need, as we strive to empower individuals and break the cycle of incarceration.
