The first-ever Catalyst Summit was a great success! Hosted by Rethreaded and Operation New Hope, the event was a great networking opportunity for Jacksonville business leaders who are invested in helping build community outside of their day-to-day operations. We are so thankful to our distinguished panel who shared their wealth of knowledge and to all those who showed up to learn more about using their business for good.

Kerri Stewart, VP of Business Analytics and Strategic Initiatives at Miller Electric Company, spoke about the importance of partnerships between for-profit and not-for-profit businesses, noting how her team relies upon the training and support that Operation New Hope provides to their job candidates.

Brian Wolfburg, President of Vystar Credit Union spoke to the importance of giving back to build a better community for everyone, including the generations to follow, and reminded everyone that we all have time and talents that we can share.

Darnell Smith, Market President of North Florida Region for Florida Blue, talked about how companies can and should “Ban the Box” making way for more equitable hiring practices.

Anita Comisky, Founder of Amelia Toffee, said that you don’t have to be a billion dollar company to make a big impact. By using our businesses for good, we can change the trajectory for just one person and that can make all the difference.

Matt Roberts,  Owner of Riverside Homes, shared how he is called to give back by his faith and encouraged everyone in attendance to practice servant leadership. He believed that by doing so, his team works harder in service of the same goal, his business is more successful, and he is able to give more the community.

Thank you to all who attended the Catalyst Summit. We extend a very special thanks to Vystar Credit Union, Manifest Distilling, and The Bread & Board for contributing to such a beautiful event. If you were not able to make it but are interested in future Catalyst events, please reach out to Amanda Mahan, Director of Marketing and Communications at Operation New Hope, at amahan@operationnewhope.org to get connected.
