Cynthia Dean and Kendal McCoy are Case Managers at Operation New Hope and provide support and counseling to people affected by the criminal justice system with the goal of reconnecting them to the workforce, their families, and their communities. They share a special connection in that they are not only co-workers, but Cynthia was once Kendal’s case manager when he was a client in the Ready4Work program. They sat down to discuss the importance of second chances as Cynthia prepares to retire after years of service to Operation New Hope.
Their conversation will be archived by Storycorps as part of that organization’s mission to preserve and share humanity’s stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world.
