Ronnie Cage is employed by Operation New Hope as a Ready4Release Program Director. Working in collaboration with the Department of Corrections, he and his team deliver pre-release services to 30+ facilities in Florida by meeting with people prior to release to build individualized release plans to facilitate a smooth transition back into the community. Ronnie also manages our Fatherhood Initiative Program and delivers the InsideOut Dads program to incarcerated fathers.
Prior to joining Operation New Hope, Ronnie spent a total of 10 years with the Jacksonville Children’s Commission in several positions which includes a Training Specialist, Program Associate/Contract Manager as well as a Parent Educator/Family Involvement Coach. He also operated Cage Consulting where he provided life, parenting and fatherhood development coaching to organizations like Police Athletic League of Jacksonville, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Duval County School Board, Kids Hope Alliance, Family Support Services, Baker Work Camp, Gateway Community Services, Clara While Mission, River Region, First Timothy Baptist Church & First Baptist Church of Mandarin. In October of 2007, Ronnie received his Master Trainer Certification in the Fatherhood Development Curriculum from the National Partnership for Community Leadership. He lead the Project MALE initiative from 2007-2010. In May of 2017, Ronnie also received his Training Certification in 24/7 Dad & Understanding Dad from the National Fatherhood Initiative. In June of 2017, he was awarded the prestigious Ron Johnson Community Practitioner Award from the National Partnership for Community Leadership for his service in the field of fatherhood.
Ronnie was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee and earned his degree in Child Welfare & Criminal Justice from Tennessee State University, where he lettered in basketball. After graduating, Ronnie was given a Free Agent tryout with the Chicago Bulls and played 17 games during the exhibition season before signing a two-year contract with the Toronto Tornadoes of the CBA. Ronnie has been married for over 30 years to his lovely wife Sandra and they have two daughters, Carmen and Cassandra.
