Operation New Hope is pleased to announce our new partnership with Goodwill. Like many of the services we provide, sometimes it is better to partner with another nonprofit that is an expert in a certain field, and so Goodwill will now be helping outfit our Ready4Work clients.
People released from jail and prison often have nothing more than the clothes on their back making it difficult to present professionally for a job interview. For over 10 years, Operation New Hope has been able to help meet the clothing needs of returning citizens by maintaining a clothing closet. We are so thankful for the many generous donations we have received from community members over the years which have ensured our clients look their best to make a great first impression.
However, we realized about a year ago that managing an onsite clothing closet was very time consuming and not really our area of expertise. When running a clothing closet, it is hard to maintain a variety of sizes for men and women, so some clients were not able to benefit from this resource.
However, our new partnership with Goodwill allows us to stay focused on our core mission of providing training and job placement to those returning from incarceration and concentrate our resources properly. When we reached out to Goodwill about a partnership idea, they were excited to help.
Ready4Work clients can now receive a Goodwill gift card to be used at any of the Northeast Florida Goodwill stores to meet their clothing needs. Thanks to the team from Goodwill who arrived today to collect all the items from Operation New Hope’s clothing closet.
Goodwill’s mission is very similar to Operation New Hope’s. Goodwill works to enhance the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families by strengthening communities, eliminating barriers to opportunity, and helping people in need reach their full potential through learning and the power of work. Any donations to Goodwill will in turn benefit Operation New Hope’s Ready4Work program because of this great new partnership. Please donate today!
We provide support, life and job skills training for people affected by the criminal justice system and place them in employment that offers a sustainable quality of life.
