Petway Family Exemplifies the Spirit of Giving

During this season of Thanksgiving, Operation New Hope extends our most sincere thanks and gratitude to the Petway Family for their continued support and commitment to providing hope to individuals returning to our community. Their most recent gift of $100,000 will help us support people as they overcome the many barriers following incarceration – like lack of affordable housing and transportation and limited access to job training and living-wage employment.

The Petway Family has been a great supporter of our reentry work over the years. They generously provided us with a crisis grant at the beginning of the pandemic to ensure we could continue providing support services to some of the most vulnerable in our community. Also with a multi-year gift, they helped us launch our Breaking the Cycle program, which provides family reunification services to break the cycle of generational incarceration. They have also donated many times to support our Ready4Work program helping us to provide case management, supportive services, job training, and job placement assistance to our clients.

The valuable commitments from our generous donors like the Petway Family have helped elevate Operation New Hope to the status of a national leader in the field of reentry. Their trust in our work and continued support has helped us attract the attention of the last four White House Administrations, federal, state, and local representatives, and various foundations and donors. Their dollars have allowed us to leverage even more government funding. The Petway Family’s investment in Operation New Hope exemplifies what can be achieved by developing Public/Private Partnerships.

Their most recent gift came through the Petway Family Advised Fund which is housed at The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida. Thank you both for exemplifying the spirit of giving here in our community!
