We would like to extend a big thank you to The UPS Foundation for their $25,000 grant in support of our workforce development training. This generous funding will be used towards our Ready4Work Vocational Training program to provide work attire, transportation assistance, and job skills training to formerly incarcerated individuals in Jacksonville, Florida.
The primary goal of our Ready4Work program is to build self-sufficiency for people who have been impacted by the criminal justice system. Our clients receive support for a full year and have access to multiple Career and Technical Training Certifications in multiple fields focused on regionally high demand employment sectors like Construction, Manufacturing, Hospitality, Logistics and Transportation, and Customer Service Careers. Our educational partners have designed their certifications to present our clients with a competitive edge while seeking second chance employment in background tolerant industries. Our program partners include but are not limited to Florida State College at Jacksonville and the University of North Florida.
Support from The UPS Foundation helps our clients achieve success. In addition to this generous financial commitment, we are thrilled to be working with Patrick Smith, Regional Community Relations Manager for UPS, and his team to build career pathways at UPS for our clients. At UPS, they are committed to doing more to help the communities where they work and live. It’s about using the strength of their global network to have impact in a changing world. Thanks to UPS for being a Second Chance Supporter!
We provide support, life and job skills training for people affected by the criminal justice system and place them in employment that offers a sustainable quality of life.
