At Operation New Hope, we believe in the power of resilience and dedication. Today, we’re thrilled to share the inspiring story of Ready4Work client, Starleen, who exemplifies the strength of perseverance.
Last year, Starleen received support from Operation New Hope to pursue a phlebotomy class. Despite her best efforts, she didn’t pass on her first attempt. But instead of giving up, Starleen displayed remarkable determination. She returned not once, not twice, but three times to take the class. Her commitment was unwavering—she paid for Uber rides, walked long distances, and made countless sacrifices to attend each session. Starleen’s hard work and relentless spirit paid off. Last week, she took her NHA exam and passed! We are incredibly proud to have been a part of Starleen’s journey and to witness her triumph.
This is why Second Chances Matter. They provide not only the opportunity for growth and change but also the profound sense of pride that comes from accomplishing what you set out to do. When you finally achieve your goal after overcoming obstacles, the feeling of self-accomplishment is unparalleled. Starleen’s story is a powerful reminder of the importance of perseverance and never giving up.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our partners in the vocational training community, such as Affordable Training, whose understanding and commitment play a crucial role in our clients’ successes. Your support is vital in helping individuals like Starleen reach their goals.
We provide support, life and job skills training for people affected by the criminal justice system and place them in employment that offers a sustainable quality of life.
