Meet Darryl Matthews, the Career Development Lead at our Jacksonville location.
Darryl joined the Operation New Hope team in 2019. He interacts with every client in the Ready4Work program in Jacksonville, teaching the Career Development portion of classes daily. His instruction covers a range of topics including body language, valuing diversity, anger management, and responding to feedback. Additionally, he distributes client certificates at graduation, conducts mock interviews, and assists clients with obtaining clothing and food from the Red Door. His support and encouragement extend to many other areas as well.
Darryl finds great joy when clients return to ONH to share how what they learned in his classes, and from him personally, has helped them secure employment and make a positive change in their lives. He is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of clients and considers this work his calling.
A veteran of the United States Army, Darryl loves working with others and is a loyal Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan.
Watch to hear what hope means to Darryl and why second chances are so important to him.
We provide support, life and job skills training for people affected by the criminal justice system and place them in employment that offers a sustainable quality of life.
