Break the Cycle
Children of formerly incarcerated parents are 7x more likely to become offenders themselves. While you are enrolled in the Ready4Work® program, you can be a part of the Breaking the Cycle Program. This program provides family reunification services to break the cycle of generational incarceration.
Earn up to $5,000 in incentives while in the program:
- Active participants earn a $50 stipend per week
- Earn up to $150 for work equipment and supplies
- Earn up to $100 for vital documents
- Stand out in class and become Student of the Week and earn an extra $25
- Graduate from Career Development and earn another $75
During the Ready4Work® program you will receive training on how to interview, how to search for a job, and will finalize your resume. However, the Ready4Work® program does not end there. Our Employment Team partners with hundreds of employers across Jacksonville to fill current job openings. After you are partnered with a Job Coach, they will take you to interviews and coach you through the process. In 2017, 312 clients received jobs! And not just any jobs, but careers. The average hourly rate is $10.71 per hour including benefits.
"I was 51 years old when I came into the program. They told me I wasn't too old for a second chance. They gave me the tools to do resumes, conduct interviews, how to dress, and how to listen. I spent over 13 years in prison and they helped me deal with some of the mental struggles I needed to overcome after being locked up for that long, my case manager cared. I've been employed with Flat Glass Distributors for over 4 years, and ONH helped me get this job. I have keys to the building. I learned how to live life differently and I couldn't be happier."
