Through a partnership with Eastern Florida State College, our Ready4Work Space Coast clients have the unique opportunity to earn a Manufacturing Essentials certification in the Mechatronics Apprenticeship Lab. This program is designed to equip them with the foundational skills required in the manufacturing industry, making them more competitive in the job market.

Hands-On Learning with Cutting-Edge Technology

One of the highlights of the program is the practical, hands-on experience our clients receive. In one of the classes, students had the chance to use a 3-D printer to create a small boat. This exercise not only introduced them to the technology but also provided them with the skills to build various parts and objects using 3-D printing.

Building Teamwork and Communication Skills

Teamwork and communication are critical skills in any workplace. In another class session, our clients worked in small groups to assemble metal cabinets. This project demonstrated their ability to collaborate effectively, enhancing their teamwork and communication skills.

Networking Opportunities

We understand the importance of networking in career development. Our clients had the opportunity to meet Laurie Elliott, the Partnership Manager at JSfirm. JSfirm is an online employment platform that specializes in job listings and career opportunities in the aerospace industry. Similar to job sites like Indeed, JSfirm connects employers with job seekers but focuses specifically on aviation and aerospace careers. This interaction allowed our clients to make valuable connections in their desired field, opening doors to potential job opportunities.

Comprehensive Training

The journey to earning the Manufacturing Essentials certification involves several days of hands-on lab work complemented by online training. Our clients commit to up to eight hours of class and training each day. This rigorous schedule ensures they receive a comprehensive education, making this certification a significant accomplishment and a valuable addition to their resumes.

Opening Doors for Further Education

After completing the Manufacturing Essentials certification, our clients have the opportunity to take a Machining class. This additional training provides them with a competitive edge in the STEM field, further enhancing their career prospects.

Ready4Work

The Ready4Work program at Operation New Hope is dedicated to empowering individuals by providing them with the skills, experience, and connections they need to succeed. Our clients in Space Coast are a shining example of what can be achieved through dedication and support. We are proud to be a part of their journey and excited to see them thrive in their future careers.
