Meet our Ready4Release Case Manager – Jamara Stephens.
Jamara joined the Operation New Hope team in 2019 after working in mental health services. Her mother’s work with this population at the Tallahassee Police Department inspired her to earn her degree in criminal justice and dedicate her career in support of second chances.
Working in collaboration with the Department of Corrections, Jamara and the Ready4Release team deliver pre-release services to over 20 facilities in Florida. She enrolls interested clients and builds an individualized release plan to facilitate a smooth transition back into the community.
By meeting with clients monthly during the 90 days prior to their release, Jamara helps bridge the reentry divide to ensure adequate housing, transportation, and job training. Her impact is evident in the transformation stories of our clients, enhanced hiring practices for employment partners, healthier communities and families, reduced recidivism, and better public safety.
Take a look at what second chances mean for Jamara.
We provide support, life and job skills training for people affected by the criminal justice system and place them in employment that offers a sustainable quality of life.
